I have finished updating the site with all the information competitors will need for next years events. There are a couple of changes in the format for 2006, you can check these out in the About Page, but the main one is that first timers next year will be entered into a Rookie Division and will fight only other first timers for the rest of the year. Existing competitors will be in the veteran's division.
For information on the new division structure or anything else to do with the League email info@mmaleague.com or log on to http://www.mmaleague.com.

How long do I have to train before I can enter the rookie division? I am going to be starting Muay Thai and Judo training soon.

    Thanks.

There is no minimum training required to enter the MMA league.

What I would recommend is this, train until you are getting the grips of Muay Thai and Judo, then compete. I'm not saying you'll be an expert or have perfect technique, but you'll kind of grasp what perfect technique is and be working towards it.

You should also feel slightly underprepared for your first MMA League event. Everyone feels underprepared for competition. If you waited until everything was perfect you'd never compete.

    Hope that helps,
    Colm

Colm has given you a good reply there John. The important thing to remember is the League isn't some super competitive event where its all about winning, its just about having a bit of fun, which is why its never to soon to enter!
I've encouraged other people in your situation to chat to their instructors, if they know what the league is, or get them to give me a call, or call me yourself closer to the date, and we can have a chat about what to expect from your first run out. Drop me an email or give me a call if you are looking for anymore info,

    Thanks,

    Mark.
