A bit of swimming is great for all injuries, it gets all the muscles moving and strenghtening and its easy to get into after an injury.

I hope for all the best for your son

Thanks 4 that watsgone. He's absolutely desperate to get back ... first JCT game on Feb 6th. Had thought bout the swimming that seems to be the best option ...had brought him 4 or five times over the last 3 weeks but he's not gone on it !!

For the love of God don't rush back in even for JCT matches.
Don't want to give him a glass collarbone breaking every few months.
He might think its worth the sacrifice for JCT but remind him he could jeopardise SCT games.
I know its very pessimitic but you see it happen too often especially with the pressure of cup games.

    Hey istep.

How long ago did he break it. Dont let him back too early.
I broke mine 6/7 years ago and on memory I didnt play any contact sports for about 4/5 months ( played a lot of gaelic at the time).
Even when I did go back training I was very weary for quite a while.
I would agree with sangre, dont rush this as more injury could occur.
He is young so should heal given time.

Im sure someone on the fitness forum may be able to help with any training queries.

Goo luck, and hope it goes well for him

    Chef.

    Thanks Guys
he will be taking it handy and is acting at all times on the advice of his ortho surgeon. Being young is on his side as he's healing like a bugger ! Fortunately it wasn't as bad a break as it looked ( hospital hought it was 1st rib as well as collarbone and would require surgery ).

Have you asked your GP for types of vitiamins he could take that may help. Swimming is the best ever even if its just a quick dip.

    Hope he gets better sson.
