Ordering box office with remote.

Hi, Hope someone here might be able to help with this, Im sick of ringing Sky and it not getting fixed!

I cant order movies using the remote, It just gives me the SKY number to ring and its a major pain in the arse TBH.

Recently had sky plus with multiroom installed, we never could order with the remote on the old box either, when it was moved to the bedroom and the new card from sky was put in it, we could order movies through the remote :D

Thing is, I wanna watch box office in the living room, not the bedroom, and the brand new sky plus box with my original card wont do it.

I have been on to sky 5 times during the weekend to try to get it fixed, the box will do call backs, I can Vote on things on sky news, I connected a phone to the socket to see if the line was ok and i could make phone calls.

People at SKY (Foreign, very hard to understand) have told me to do various things, turn the box off for 10 mins and then turn back on etc. given viewing card details countless times!!! It just seems odd.

I dont know about these things but im wondering if the card just needs to be activated in some way to allow this function. The box with the new card in the bedroom for example, suddenly i can order movies on this box

Anyone got any ideas?? If anyone else out there had a similar problem and got it resolved? Might help if i could tell the SKY techies whats wrong cos they sure as hell dont have a clue

    Thanks in advance
    Harpie;)

Unless your Digibox is connected to a working phone line it won't work.

Go to Services setup system test to test phone connection.

OK I need my glasses cleaned. Maybe the digibox credit or online ordering is set wrong in Parental control?

afaik, it will pop up that message if the card isnt enabled for box office through the remote.
If there is no credit or credit used up, it will say there is insufficient credit.

Does the OP subscribe to any premium channels?

Other than what ive said, the card has just not been enabled for Ordering through the remote.

Whats the exact message on screen?

    Hi Lads,

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated, the message says from memory " To order this programme please call 0870********, cant remember the number, I'm in work at the moment.

Definately doesn't say Insufficient funds or anything.
I think all I need to do is ask them to activate the card for Box Office ordering through the remote.
Does that sound right to you?

Its just that im confused that from all the phone calls i made some techie didn't twigg " Hang on all I need to do is activate his card for Box Office ordering through the remote"

The card is 2 years old and we left the box unplugged for a long time because we thought it was interfering with our internet dial up connection,(wouldn't stay connected for more than about 5 mins, eventually found out it was a intemittent fault with the computer).
Would the fact that the box was unplugged for about a year and a half have anything to do with it?

I'm just trying to go through all the possibilities.

    Thanks again in advance.

well my sky plus has been uplugged for the last year and it still works.

Bottom line your card needs to be activated, just ask the CS reps and if they start asking what film you want to order tell them its not that i want to order one now, i want the facility of ordering with my remote, if all else fails in getting through their thick skulls, demand the supervisior. ;)
