Hi, dunno if this is the right forum but anyway here goes..
A friend has a Garmin GPSMAP 276C installed on his boat.
    http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsmap276c/
He says the screen is too small and he wants to hook the unit up to a TFT monitor like a 17".
Does anyone know how he would do this??? There are only 2 connections available on the garmin, USB and a serial connector... These are mainly for downloading maps to the unit i think.
Is there a way to hook straight to a monitor or even get the picture on a monitor via a PC??

Any help would be appreciated, if i should move this thread pls suggest a board which would suit..
    Thanks,
    Munky

I beleive that older versions of MapSource allowed you to pull a live feed from the GPS to a laptop/PC (might be serial connection only - not sure). The newer versions of MapSource seem to have removed this functionality, so if he tries to get his hands on an older version of mapsource, he should be able to use this along with a PC and monitor (or laptop).. Of course he'll need to keep this powered on the boat..

Otherwise, there are plenty of third-party apps that will take a live feed from a Garmin device, but it is very unlikely that he will be able to access his BlueCharts using a third-party application.

    Thanks Krusty,
Its not looking good for us so.. it'll be hard to find an old copy of mapsource. Can you list some of these 3rd party apps that can take a live feed from the garmin. I could try a few anyway. I havent a clue what bluecharts are, i hope he does!
