MTV "Reality" shows

Iv had arguements with numerous people over this... Does anyone actually believe that these are real?? Im talking about the likes of Newlyweds & Meet the Barkers etc...

IMO its just another sit com/soap just made to look unrehersed and using documentry style filming.. Its no different to Friends..

I half believed the Osbourns, because lets face it Ozzy isnt capable of reading a script but the others are all staged..

By looking at whats on MTV for the rest of today, then no, no there isnt. During the week they -might- have TRL on which may have music on it.

As for reality shows, Bams one is obviously stages. With others like the Osbournes they have probably been told to do something or say something at a certain time but Ozzy couldnt remember a script.

room raiders - when he runs up to the door to drag them out unexpectadly ....pfff yeah right

dismissed - thats definitley rehearsed

pimp my ride - that too with the "surpsirse reactions" and knocking on door thing

...its easy to spot from the bloopers they show after the credits run.

As for the real reality shows such as newlyweds - i dont think theyre fully rehearsed - they might just give them a line here and there and tell them to do whatever - but other than that they lead their normal lives (they are not told what to do , but instead how to do it )

and dont get me started on viva la bam

Room raiders, yeah we're supposed to believe that these people are given no warning that their rooms are going to be raided ??? And the rooms are all spotless clean, Iv yet to see anyone find an unmade bed, a cereal bowl on the floor, a pair of apple catchers (in the girls rooms) always brand new looking g strings :rolleyes: The most they ever come up with is a love letter from an ex or something lame.. What a load of b*llox

Pimp my ride is defintly fake, how is that nobody, whether it is in room raiders or pimp my ride, has something important to do at that time, they just leave their house practically..

And pimp my ride, don't the videos look awful professional that are shown, but they are meant to be taken before they send them in, because at the end they always "Please MTV, Pimp My Ride..."

Viva la Bam is definlty staged, and Newlyweds is a wee bit staged..

I live in America now and its 10 times worse over here , no music at all , just reality crap and some of the Re-TV that hasn't made it back to Ireland yet........ and VH1 are no better celeb crap 24 hours aday , actually I will turn the TV on right now and let you know whats on each

I haven't seen any them bar the Osbournes but I'd wager right now the whole thing is staged (esp series 2-4). Not literally scripted mind you, but I believe the producers do organise and place Ozzy & co in chosen situations and then ask them to ape it up in front of the camera.

The one that bugs me tho is cribs. I don't believe that a lot of those people own their homes and are just giving us a guided tour of some billionaire businessmans gaf with a few last-minute affections thrown around for authenticity. I find this notion esp true for the hip-hop stars who always have the best houses and where it's all about selling the idea of "bling-bling", yet sometimes I watch it and I get the feeling they don't even know what lies beyond the next door etc.

What annoying me about cribs is that it's supposed to give a look into the celeb's personal life but EVERYTHNIG is pristine. If there are kids in the house there are no toys to be seen lying around, the beds are always made and there are never any empty dishes in the sink in the kitchen.

And then the people go and open the doors at the beginning of the show and say "Oh my gawd! MTV! I wasn't expecting you!" :rolleyes:

Ah cribs is silly...I just find it unbelievable how big some of the houses are...more money than sense...though I wouldn't be complaining if I had it! :rolleyes:

Oh i hate all those shows! I stoped watching MTV when they took over. It's all staged nonsense!

I've just finished watching one of their new reality shows "The Andy Milonakis Show". One of the worst reality shows I've ever seen. It's not even funny. Viva La Bam, Jackass, Cribs, Room Raiders, Dismissed... they're all the same, staged boring crap that MTV repeat for hours on end.

I do like "Hogan Knows Best" but that's because I was a huge fan of Hulk Hogan when I was small, and it is actually decent enough. Having said that, I'm sure I'll be sick of it after MTV have repeated it 10 million times.

yeh it's funny how people think they are real.

one day i was watching pimp my piece of **** and when the host knocked on the door this girl went absolutely insane. my sister said god it must be such a surprise to get a celeb on your door like that.

to which i said "sure real surprise, so do women normally wear microphones and have that little black box clipped on to their jeans?"

Did you see the one with Richard Simmons house :eek: Thats just ridiculous.. They have their own cinema... And not just a big room with cinema seats and a wide screen like most of them do.. This is an actual cinema, with a box office and a popcorn machine..
