Been trying to get through to their ring and reserve number (01-2161616) since yesterday with no luck. Keep getting the engaged tone, even tried it at about 3am last night with same result. Got the engaged tone about a week ago too but got through after another try or two. Have they closed the lines coming up to chrismtas maybe?

Bloody Argos! They NEVER answer their phones, either the 01 reservation number or specific shop numbers. Went in wks ago to get an MP3 player on half price (a really good deal). After queueing to check it was in stock and queueing to order it they told me they couldn't order it at that time and gave me their number to find out when it came in. No one answers their phones, no one working there knows anything about anything or can't seem to work the computers to reserve anything. Needless to say the sale ended and I am still MP3-less.

I know how stressfull it is working somewhere like that over Christmas (i used to work in Virgin) but its pure mayhem in there. Suppose we can't really blame the workers if they warent trained properly or if the company fails to employ someone to answer the phones....

The whole annoying thing with ring and reserve is the fact you still have to queue up like a goon to pay at a till with the other plebs. why don't they have a fast lane for ring and reserve or like in the UK have self service terminals which avoid the need to queue at all?

If anyone gets through, could you do me a flavour and check to see if anywhere in the Dublin region (preferably Dun laoghaire {200}, Tallaght {395}, Nutgrove {392} or Liffey Valley {687}) has item # 533/4348 in stock and if so, how much is it? Please:)

Or, heaven forbid, allow you to order online and offer delivery....what shops like argos gain out of in-store only offers is truly beyond me; stressed staff, pissed off customers, screaming kids and a store full of all of the above.

What's wrong cormie....lookin' for one of those cheapo Gamecubes? :v:

    Yep.
Neither fo the two actually make the prducts they sell.
They just rebrand cheaper crappy products from smaller unknown manufacturers.

I've been following a thread on that and there seems to be a problem with Irish frequencies for tuning the stations. I presume this problem wouldn't be present with one Argos sell?!

The argos one should be compatible with UK and IRL frequencies. I would expect that must at least.

yeah hopefully:D So basically, you think it should be ok for the use it will be getting? Recording VHS videos to DVD, recording and pausing at ads etc? General playback? They work out at €118 when converted from the UK price of £79.99. Can I use this fact to get it cheaper in an Irish store perhaps? :)
