something that keeps popping up at the cash table and because opinions differ, players have agreed to let boardsters decide what rule we implement.
A player buys in to the cash game for 200euro and within a short period of time he has 50 left in front of him. can he buy chips between pots to top up or must he wait until he is totally out of chips(remember, its a cash game).

is there a specific ruling on this or is it different in every card room?

He can top up at any time between hands (not during a hand obviously). Having a rule where he can't buy-in until his current chips are gone is a bit silly since it's no a tournament. Never heard this rule before for cash games.

Correct. A player could basically top back up to 200 after every hand.

if there's a table minimum, he would need to make his buy-in enough to put him over that minimum, but otherwise he could buy in at any time.

I'm not sure about the minimum thing - I was at a €50 table in the SE on Thursday night, and a guy (who was out of chips) was allowed to rebuy for €20. I wasn't sure about this, but the dealer allowed it after others at the table convinced him.

    What do others think?

What was that argument involving the asian guy about in the cash game?. I was over the other side playing the tournament at the time the raised voices started. It looked nailed on at one point that somebody was going to be asked to leave.

No, this guy was Irish, and it happened at Table 3, the same side of the room as the tournament final table. There wasn't really any controversy on this move, simply because the dealer didn't really care, some of the other players were this guy's mates, and I didn't really care either. I'd just be interested to learn what the proper position on this is.

In the Fitz youre allowed one short rebuy everything else has to be above 50

Excluding the one short re buy rule if you were down to say €45 could you buy €5 to bring you up to minimum, or would you have to purchase the minimum, ie €50 to bring you up to €95?

a player who frequents both the macau club in cork and my club here in killarney tells me that in the macau, you cannot reload at the cash table until your totally out of chips. thought it was a bit unusual myself but agreed to put it on boards. thanks for the help

Each club has different rules. The general rule is that you can top up your stack between hands but you should do what you think is best for your cluba dn your cash games.
