With all this talk of $$$$$ underpowered machines with no real upgrade path and the question being asked "what to do with it?", I thought I would tell you a story .....

My first 'Home' Pc was a IBM PS2 286 ...... now its many years since I've used it and when it was no longer being turned on, I had to make the decision ... Bin it or simply put it up on a shelf out of harms way .... well, the shelf won and today its reached the ripe old age of 15 or so years (it could even be sixteen)

A bit of a Lightning disaster with a P3 Dell a few months ago left me with no home PC and some Letter work I had to get done .... the IBM was powered up .... everything came up including a Mann 81 steam printer and low and behold, all my letter work was created :p

So what does a IBM PS2 look like at 15 years of age +?

Well here it is tonight ...... 'A pup for the puddle and an old dog for the long road' :D

DOS i'd assume, with proggys booted into the ram from floppys.

wow, thats in better shape than my 'puter I bought from Gateway back in 2000.

If your asking whether you should keep in case it might apreciate in value, I think that'll never happen. It happens with furniture, clothing, etc. but with technology being outdated before it leaves the workbench, its only use as a museum item. speaking of which...
