Anyone remember when RTE showed some shows in 3D when the viewer had to have the 3D glasses?
    Late 80s / early 90s I think.
I'm pretty sure the glasses were available everywhere for a small sum going to charity.
Can anyone remember the shows / time this happened?

Yes.. did the glasses not come with the RTÉ guide though?

I remember the Den showed a lot Three Stooges films in 3D and we also had Vincent Price in The House of Wax later on in the evening... It really wasn't all that impressive.

I can remember a mate making a cheap pair of 3d glasses using the coloured wrappers from a box of Quality Street! :D

i do remember the 3d glasses alright, i remember watching some western or something that was meant to be in 3d but it failed :( Recently here in the US they had an episode with Medium that you could wear 3d glasses that came in your TV guide.

Believe it or not but the Star Wars movies are being re-released theatrically in 2007 in 3D!

    one was the three stooges.
    the second was a western
the third was a horror film, number 1 and 3 were in black and white the three stooges film was show during the den

The 3 D glasses were £1 and the money went to REHAB.

They killed the golden goose by throwing too many things towards the audiance. It's a one time joke.

In the cinema wasn't firday the thirtheenth 3D or ( or firday the third part thirteen) and it had polarised glases in stead of red/green ( better 3D but no use on TV's )

Yes I remember RTE showing a couple of 3D films. It was many years ago, I would say around 1986-87. One of the films was Inferno (not Towering Inferno) which is the western that people have mentioned.

I think one of the other films was a monster/dinosaur one. Can't remember the name.

There used to be cartoons like this, Ski Bots I think it was and also Jaws 3 was 3d with glasses.

In Ski Bots there was a little sign in the bottom corner of the screen that told you when to put on your glasses.
