hey I know it's a little early to ask for information, but I was wondering if there is going to be a cap on the number of archers attending from each college? I need to pick the team as soon as possible cause our exams run until the week before the IV, and we have limited training between now and then.

We're still discussing it but I reckon we'll cap at about 9.

While we're on the subject, how do ye all plan to get to Galway? Train? Car? Plane? Star Trek style transporter? Just wondering because we're making maps to show ye how to get to the college so just need to know if we'll make them from the the train/bus stations or driving routes.

Also, we haven't done this in a while so remind me, is this list of trophies needed.............

    Winning team - 5
    2nd team - 5
    3rd team - 5
    Top advanced - 1
    Top barebow - 1
    Top beginner - 1

    Am I leaving out anything?

This is what the rules have to say
    (5) Its recommended that the individual prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.
    (6) If there are very few people in a category then a prize for 1st in that category is sufficient.
    (7) Additional prizes can be presented for guests but the above prizes are for intervarsity archers only.
Basically, you need to have the team awards and 1st place in each category. Everything else is at your discretion.

    Hi all.

We have decided to cap the number on each team for the NUIG IV to ten. We'll run the shoot in the usual two sections with the "local" teams (NUIG, GMIT, UL, AIT) shooting 30, the teams from "out foreign" (UCD, DCU, DIT, NUIM, CIT, UCC) shooting 30 and repeating.

Since there will only be 4 teams on the "local" session, if any of the "foreign" teams want to switch to the local one just let me know.

Will post more details as I get them.

I know DIT will be going down friday night so if there not hung over (Chances are they will be) they might shoot early. Last year at the galway shoot, myself and trig got up early to shoot in the early detail.

Im sure a few other people will drag themselves out of bed to shoot early.

Hummm house party heh!? some of us will be shooting on the sunday, same as last year, so some might for go the party, others might not!!! :-) :-) :-)

Try to keep the numbers as close to 10 as possible. The reason we gota cap the number is that we can fit 13 target butts in the hall. That’s 52 target faces available per session. Crunching the numbers, this means that if each club brings the maximum allowed we will have only 2 spare faces in the shoot on the second and forth sessions (for UCD, DCU, DIT, NUIM, CIT and UCC); this is also assuming UCC aren’t fully represented. If the “Home Nations” (NUIG, GMIT, UL, and AIT) bring full teams there should be 12 spare faces in the first and third sessions. We realise that AIT probably won’t be fully represented either, freeing up a few faces.

The upshot of all this dribble is that if ye want to bring more than the capped number of shooters please let us know as early as possible and ye might have to put some of them in the first and third sessions rather than the second and forth.

    I hate maths!
