    Hi,
I am buying my sister an Ipod for Christmas and was just wondering what I should get. Don't want to be ripped off but want to buy a good one. Can somebody advise me please on a good one to get? Thanks

Get an Ipod Mini 6GB for less than the Nano 4GB.

My brother(clueless about computers) got one 2 months ago and its pretty damn small.
The Nano is absolutely tiny and I have also heard of screen problems with it but not with the Mini.

I realise that they are fashion accesories these days...but remember they are still relativalely complicated to get working properly, especially if your sister is a little scared of technology!!!

I have a 20gb iRiver and its great, but....its too fiddly. Too much cable.
My gf has bought me a nano for Christmas and I got to play with it for a little while and it looks great, easy as hell to use once you get the hang of the touch sensitive scroll. €259 in Dixons for the 4gb.
All in all, a flash player is what you want for walking, running etc and a hd player for the desk beside you. BTW 20gb is just ridiculous. 4 is 2 too many IMO.

Best advice is to search for iPod on boards.ie and go to the thread with the most replies (apart from the FS forums) and it will more than likely be a thread which has turned into why to get other players over the iPod, have a read and make up your own mind:)
