I have a dell c610 running win XP pro
It will only work thru mains
the battery indicator light is blinking constantly
checking control panel/performance and maintenance/power options and then power meter tab it shows battery at 95% and charging.
does this mean i have a problem with the battery or the lappie?
are there any other checks i can do?

    thanks in advance

not really, by the looks of it you will have to get a new battery, as the old one is probably not holding charge anymore, and incorrectly reporting that it is.

    The battery most likely.

Try another charger and battery is the only real test.
Check in your BIOS for a battery refresh option that might help (Doubtful though..)

Its definitely the battery, have the same model with the same problem. Got a new battery from Dell and works like a charm...
