    Howdy,

As the thread title somewhat says im departing these dark lands for the fresh pastures of NZ, in the process of booking flights and am hoping to make a stop off in thailand for a few days. Anyone else travel this route?

Also in general flight prices anyone find any airline cheaper than the next? Any tips/pointers appreciated.

Try emirates. They were the cheapest for me but involved a very indirect route via Manchester, Dubai, Singapore and Melbourne. Still I saved a packet compared to the other carriers.

I went to NZ last year via Thailand. I loved NZ - live in Wellington or Christchurch if you're looking for a city to base yourself in. Don't stay in Auckland anyway.

I used Trail Finders and flew from London - I was living there at the time.

Its pretty cheap in comparison to ireland. We lived in a lovely apartment on the Terrace, which is right in the city and it cost us only $300 each a month.

    Wellington is a great city.
