    Hi,
have had sky for the last 10 years and well the equipment has seen better days -- picture is freezing etc. and all that -- now a friend just got a new installation with sky+ and the new dish is way more sophisticated with double inputs etc.

what is the best way to get a complete new installation with the sky+ - was thinking of maybe cancelling sky and then subscribing under my wife's name

any ideas ? will sky upgrade to a new sky dish and sky+ box if I threatened to leave them?

Sky + costs more and if you are on a basic 2 x mix nearly doubles the price. If you are on full package they wil give you a subsidized install and not charge the recording rental.

Your dish is out of alignment if picture freezing.

The LNB that comes with Sky+ has four outlets. Two are used by Sky+.

You can use one for the old box even without a sub for all BBC and ITV and many others.

Without a sub , the Sky+ is basically just a receiver.
