Not sure which is the right area for this as it covers a few bases, but here goes.

I've been thinking of getting a tuner card for my PC and this one from AverMedia is a digital/analogue hybrid with FM and time-shifting.

So a few of questions -

Do we know at this stage if the digital receiver on this card would be any use for the Irish digital system (Do we even know what it will be yet?)

Does anyone have any experience of this card? Is it any good? Are there better out there?

    Thanks.

While not cast-iron certain, my answer is that it should be OK with the planned Irish DTT service provided that the network sticks to its original planned setup. There is nothing to suggest there that it wouldn't be compatible. The only thing it might not handle is any potential interactive services in either MHEG or MHP (though a software upgrade could probably sort that out).

Though IMO it is far from certain we will ever have DTT.

Maybe a big aerial pointed at Wales, Devon, IOM or NI?

The Isle of Mann doesn't have any DTT Transmitters at the moment.
