    Thanks Tom.

I'd loved to have been charitable and let you take the ticket but I obviously want to play this so much myself. I hope to do the team proud. And also hope to net you some profit.

Karl... Have a word with the T-Shirt people and see if they do a larger size ;-)

BTW... I know you won't remember this Tom ... But the first live game I played was a €10 SnG at the Fitz... two years ago. You and I ended up heads up I think I had A 10 and called your all in K5 you just had me covered. You hit a straight with the 5.

Hope the pain subsides by Saturday and I'll see you at the SE.

Barry Greenstein gives all his tournie winnings to charity, I'm sure Andy Black and Donnacha would give 1% if it was put to them nicely...

Indeed , though Mike is trying for that one I think but all the same I'd never live down the slaggin' from the lads I live with if I took the "kings crown". Besides they are being played at the same time and its tough to multi table on ppp I find.

Note: In order to be eligible for the seat in each event you MUST HOLD A VALID PASSPORT for the country you wish to represent and your Paddy Power billing address must also be in that country. We will be requesting proof of citizenship for these events and customers not holding correct passports WILL forfeit their entry to the next placed player with eligible entry.

    Mike and Tom?

passport is the main thing. billing address can looked at further if you hold a valid passport.

basically trying to target users to teams appropriately. pokerstars used billing address exclusively for the world cup which i thought was a bit chit.

Aye, I'm quite proud of my Northern roots to be honest. I also don't get the idea that people born in the 6 counties are not "Irish" or are somehow less Irish then those born in the Free State. I mean, I could accept that opinion as being coherent from Ian Paisley but generally you get it from people who are otherwise quite nationalistic. I feel like saying "You're opinions are internally incohesive" but I generally don't say things like that to people with large tattoos .
I'd play for Northern Ireland first, Ireland second and I wouldn't try to qualify for England because I don't consider myself English (not that I have anything against them, I mean, Mike is English. Ok yeah, apart from that. Regi is English too. Actually come to think of it I hate the English :) )
I'd feel like a cheap bastard if I won a ticket to play for England tbh.

All of which is very off topic. The two games will be played at the same time so I dunno if I'll multi table them or just play the NI one...

I consider myself Irish, I dont really care about whats printed on a piece of paper. It would be good publicity for PP if they got Cascarino to play for England though

Not at all, Mike was born in England, whereas I wasnt, thats the difference. Technically I could apply for an English Passport but frankly, two nationalities is enough for anyone :)

It will be allot easer to win an English ticket,so Mike who are you declaring for...?

ps:I declare for anybody who will let me play.

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

Mike can play for both as he has dual nationality (Irish Mother and Irish passport, born in England.). He just can't play in the NI game.

Not quite. I was born in England and have a British passport. I have an Irish Grandmother so qualify for an Irish passport. I have not lived in England for 10 years and have no desire to back and live there again, there are too many English people there for my liking :D

If I can't play for Ireland then I will play the qualifier for the English team, simply because it is too good an opportunity to miss. TV poker needs me :v:

So if my grandfather was born in Northern Ireland I can play that qualifier?

Maybe so if you can get a passport...But the thing to remember is you will not know if you won the seat on-till the 28th of this month. So you will have to get a passport before the 9th/10th of January.
