Just got a Dell Inspiron 1300 today,
Came with XP Home but I wanted to put XP Pro on it so I did a fresh install. Only thing is that Windows cant find Video Controller drivers. Making my screen all fuzzy and not all the best to watch for too long. Though I found them on the Dell site but when I try to install them I get this error :

    Any ideas folks?

Quite literally what it says to you, try downloading them again, failing that, are you positive you download the correct drivers in the first place?

That's odd, have you tried the older version of the driver?

When it first came, was it working fine? you didn't check which version of the driver was installed on it, did you?

And yes, how do you find the laptop? is the speed decent?

See the laptop came with XP Home, which i took off and put XP Pro onto it, which is where the trouble started. Laptop seems fine, boots up pretty quick, I only use it for web and music really but its doing the trick, Cant really complain for 600 euro!
