    I have a house / mortgage in my own name only. I got married last year..can my wife get tax relief for the mortgage even though mortgage in my name only.

    I suspect you would have to be jointly assessed to get the married allowance, which might have other implications, depending on your own personal circumstances.

    Because Tax Relief is granted at source, all you need to do is complete a TRS1 form and enter the details for your wife.
