Metroid Prime Pinball

I know some people scoffed at this game when it was announced (hi kirby!), but its actually a bloody great game.

Its a pinball game themed on Metroid Prime. The different tables are named after (and modelled after) areas in Metroid Prime (Tallon Overworld, Phendrana Drifts, Magmoor Caverns etc.).

The idea behind it is to collect 12 artifacts by completing tasks on 3 main tables and 3 boss tables, fight Ripley, and then fight metroid prime. Its not a hard game - you'll probably finish it in a couple of days (I haven't yet - damn ripley), but its a game thats easy to pick up for a quick game. Once you have completed a table in the quest game, it is available as a standalone table where you can try and beat your high score (or best time, in the case of the boss tables). I hear an expert mode is unlocked when you finish the main game.

I have to mention the music in this game.... its absolutely fantastic. The music is a variation of the music from Prime 1 and 2 on the gamecube, and it is gorgeous.

Don't know if I'd pay €50 for it here, but I got it for $35 last week in America, and it was worth the money. (I don't think a release date has been announced for Europe yet)

I was thinking of getting this for the rumble pack, may well take a closer look at this.

The entire concept of this game is just wrong in my mind.

Poor Kirby is having Metroid Prime withdrawl symptoms.

    So very true...
As soon as my exams are over and I beat Ico, I'm seriously contemplating a 100% run at Metroid Prime. :)

This is a great pinball game, although it makes absolutely no use of the stylus whatsoever.

The rumble pak is very nice I might add.

EDIT: Ahright, just found out it does feature touch screen capabilities (bumps the table) although you'll probably be using your thumb.

I played it a few times at demo stands in shops, but it just doesn't feel right. Far better than the hideous mario pinball, but I just can't see it being as good as the outrageously addictive pokemon pinball (sapphire & ruby) on the GBA.
