How come some of the most useless threads on here are the most supported,
Why is there a thread with about 5 pages, asking the sole question what age are you?
Why has one just started entitled What month?
Why have so many people replied to my little survey,
and random what are you listening to and stuff threads,

Do we really have such little time that we waste our time on these dead threads of which the OP has little or no interest anymore?

Do people really care about their post count?

We need to break free from these inane threads and try to be creative,

    Rant over.

I know what you mean. Theres this guy, flipflops or somethinlike that I think his name is, but he's constantly posting pointless bullsh1t threads that for some reason always get lots of responses. Why do these people do it? You sure as hell wouldn't catch me posting in one of them :v:

Hey, start a poll about it.

Because our lives are empty and devoid of meaning apart from the pathetic interactions we have in this little corner of cyberspace.

Oh, and because we can say crazy stuff to other human beings and get away with it like "*deleted for obvious reasons - use your imagination*"

Although I see the irony in posting in this thread, I'll give you a reason. Because sometimes people can't resist giving information or sharing their beliefs with others. Those surveys are compulsive to some people, they just want to spread the word about their favourite book or movie or whatever and reveal who they are and what they think. It validates them on some level, and bonds them to a community.

I was thinking the same thing and once I opened the threads to read them I just got out of them straight away.

Its trival everyday stuff. not everyone has a sinister reason for opening threads.

Why is there a thread with about 5 pages, asking the sole question what age are you? because half of them that answer are teeny boppers.

Why has one just started entitled What month?
why does it matter to you so much?

Why have so many people replied to my little survey,
Fcuk knows. lambs to slaughter. i answered out of curitosity

and random what are you listening to and stuff threads,
    silly question

Do we really have such little time that we waste our time on these dead threads of which the OP has little or no interest anymore?
please insert my answer re people @ work here

Do people really care about their post count?

    Creativity is . . .

Common definition from Webster's - Creativity is marked by the ability or power to create–to bring into existence, to invest with a new form, to produce through imaginative skill, to make or bring into existence something new.

    * Carl Rodgers (psychologist an writer) -- The emergence of a novel, relational product, growing out of the uniqueness of the individual.
    * Henry Miller ( writer) -- The occurrence of a composition which is both new and valuable.
    * John Haefele (CEO and entrepreneur) -- The ability to make new combinations of social worth.
    * Newell, Simon, & Shaw (team of logic theorists) -- A special class of problem solving characterized by novelty.
    * H. H. Fox (scientist) -- Any thinking process in which original patterns are formed and expressed.
    * E. Paul Torrance (educator, academic, creativity investigator) --Fluency , flexibility, originality, and sometimes elaboration.
    * Rollo May (writer, philosopher) - Creativity is the process of bringing something new into being...
    *

Roger von Oech - Creative thinking involves imagining familiar things in a new light, digging below the surface to find previously undetected patterns, and finding connections among unrelated phenomena.
    *

Carnevale, Gainer, Meltzer - ... the ability to use different modes of thought to generate new and dynamic ideas and solutions

But why are you trying to make writers, psychologists etc out of everyone?
this particular forum is for everyday rant.

Why dont you visit some of the forums that are dedicated to such subjects?

Because it's preferable to browse and post ****e than study for my maths phys exam today? insert other reasons there too. Usually because it's fun to do whilst chatting at home and because I have a lot of free time since I don't watch tv and it is something to do whilst listening to a new album or whatever.

we oblige cos its After hours (n'est pas?)

AfterHours it may be but that doesn't mean that should we see a thread asking when peoples birthdays are, that we simply MUST post a thread asking what peoples star signs are.
Though, I'd say somewhere in your head it made sense to.

I think she did the soundtrack for Magnolia didn't she? I quite like her stuff and hear it around the place, but I don't have anything. I may just have to investigate her music further.
