Hamer & RAN Guitars: Your Views?

i'm looking to get a new guitar soon, and seen as i dont have the money for a Custom 24, i was looking for something a little cheaper. i'm not going to ask about all the guitars that everyone knows about anyway, or that you can walk into a shop and pick up and play, rather 2 that i dont know as well: Hamer & RAN.

i think most people have at least heard of Hamer (i THINK they're now owned by Gibson), but has anyone here payed one, owned one? what did you think of it?
    i found this one i like: http://www.willcuttguitars.com/images/554352-2.jpg
but i want some feedback on them first, and more research on my other options, before i do anything about anything.

second up, RAN Guitars, custom made from Poland: www.ranguitars.com. these i have heard very good things about. i found them when checking out Vogg's equipment (guitarist from Decapitated). note that i ****ing LOVE Vogg's tone, so this would hopefully get me halfway there! :p
you can get a hand made guitar, with 2 EMGs, 24 frets, locking trem, etc, for a little over €1000. again, anyone got any feedback to provide on RAN Guitars?

    thanks in advance!

A friend of mine had a Hamer about 10 years ago. Very nice guitar indeed. He treated it like **** but it still performed excellently. Never heard of Ran, though I would wonder why any company would use medium frets as stock in this day and age.

I had never heard of Ran guitars till the dimeination gig (pantera tribute), the lead guitarist had one and it was amazing! Very nice to play and it sounded f*cking amazing! Even had his name on the 12th fret :D

Played a hamer standard a while back and it was easily as nice as my own gibson explorer!!! which means one of the best i've ever played!!

cheaper too but hard to find a good condition one!

    Try before you buy!!:D
