I find this aerial more interesting than the b-sting aerial?

I rarely see them fitted as a car accessory. Any car I saw with one was
    a dummy aerial.

How much does the real aerial retail at? Is it the price that is turning
    people off from buying them.

How would you paint one and its rubber base?

    no no and no!

they look out of place on most BMW's as is, so fitted to pretty much anything else and they look hideous

Quite often it's a GPS receiver.

Readily available on eBay if you're after one

They were originally fitted to recent BMWs and Volvo seem to have adopted them. I saw a green UK regd Audi this morning with one which was silver. That I don't get.
