loud beeps

    Hi folks...
    Having prob with my Dell Laptop. Its an Inspiron 2650 and when i boot up there is a loud beeping noise out of it for about 60secs and then it boots up very slowly...
    Also when i click on "My Computer" icon it dials for internet connection...
    What would be causing this prob...

    Did you check for virii and spyware?

    Does the beeping start immediately?
    Describe the beeping sequence..
    And specify your motherboard if you can:)
