Waiting for police certificate for visa to be issued?

    Hi,

    I was told the police certificate would take upto 3 weeks to be sent to me.My local garda who sent off the application said the above.Now after a visit to the station yesterday i was told it would be morelike 1 month to 2 months.WTF the garda website says 1 month, the government website says 3weeks.At this stage i have been told so many different stories by all the differnt gardai i have spoken to so far.I had to cancel my visa interview yesterday which pissed me off as i had been waiting for 3 months to get to this stage. The gardai gave me the impression that they dont give a **** however much i explain to them how important this is.I was told wait my turn and with slow post coming into affect who knows when i will get it.I applied for the fiance visa though my gf who is american(she lives in dublin).

    That sucks, man!!! When I got mine, I just went down to the police station and they handed it to me. Any way going to a rural station would help you at all?

    Could you try moving this to the Soc->Politics thread and one of the movers and shakers over there could tell you how to "grease the wheels"?
