Do you mean the public personna?

Damien Duff would be a good example of 19 year old males (Nivea, Lucozade, Hibernain Insurance etc...)

Staff are also brand ambassadors .... their culture, company ethics and policy, staff appearance, training, presentation, uniform, customer service etc.....

Are you looking for potential brand ambassadors or current ones?
Do they have to be in the Irish market only?

Damo Duff is a prime example.

Brian O'Driscoll - Powerade, Adidas and O2 (and probably a lot more others I cant think of).
DJ Carey - numerous sponsorship deals.
Bono - The Make Poverty History Campaign

Actually, brand ambassadors dont have to be big stars.
They can also work on a local level.
Perhaps local GAA club stars (they can be ambassadors for sports gear, nutritional foods etc..) as they will be local idols to the younger generation.
Works on all levels... just think who students respect and link brands and products to them.

Sports wise I think Duffer is top - but he is starting to become overused
Music wise either damien dempsey or glen hansard (spelling) from the frames
Hollywood I think Cillian Murphy, I think he could do some deadly ads

trying to think of more...

I think there's quite a few good sporting examples past and present.

Jason Sherlock was a good one for Penny's ... Pele for Viagra;)

Look at Bobby Charlton now, he would be an Ambassodor for Man Utd and England 'brands'.

U2 would be ambassadors for Amnesty International and indeed Ireland.

'competitor analysis on chocolate bars in the irish market'

This is easy just walk into a few corner shops and ask the owner what sells best. Or just ring up the PR dept of mars and cabury ireland.
