360 joypad with original xbox

Has anyone tried hooking up a wired 360 joypad to the original xbox to see if it works? or vice versa. Those connectors on the cable just before the plug (the ones that are designed to come away with a tug so the console doesnt fall) seem to be the same connectors.

The connectors are different so unfortunately it will not work. Having said that the wired usb 360 controller works fine when connected to a PC.

You know Im not talking about the usb connector but the other one yeah?

I know exactly what connection you are on about. There is a slight difference which is unfortunate.:(
