Just wondering if anyone can answer a few questions about windows 2003 server:

    1) What type of specs do you need to run it.
    2) Do all the clients running off ther server domain have to be the same OS or can your have like windows 2000 pro, win xp & win xp pro?

Clients can be any of the ones you've listed. Spec - any new machine will do, in fact any half decent server that still has over a year of warranty cover left would probably do. Despite all the unnecessary crap they have put into it like wireless and media player it is after all a server. The other apps/services/active directory will determine additional requirements.

95/98/Home can't partitipate in domain security but users can logon to them and can use shared files and printers. simply put a batch file in all users\startup folder
    set L=\\server\netlogon\logon.bat
    if exist %L% %L%

Just note that if you are setting up an active directory domain, windows xp home clients won't be able to join it - gotta be pro. Windows 2000 (any version) will join the domain without problems.
