A post I put on a few days ago about gloves has put me thinkin...Here's a question:
What do you think are the best gloves and boots on the market today. Use the following list as a guide to making your decision:
    • Comfort
    • Safety
    • Odour Control
    • Style
    • Price

Now then the same for boots, use the same list:
    • Comfort
    • Safety
    • Odour Control
    • Style
    • Price

As a goalkeeper I always go for Adidas Preditor football boots and Adidas FS E4S gloves. They are both very comfortable, and as safe as it gets to be honest.

I pick the Preditors because I like the tongue style. I prefer boots with the laces covered because I think it definately has an effect on the contact with the ball. They are also a very nice looking boot so all around they are a great boot. They are a little pricey, but I couldn't possibly wear another boot.

Some goalkeepers go for the Rugby boots, but I am not a fan of them at all. They are very uncomfortable, IMO.

As for the gloves, as a keeper the FS E4S gloves are probably the best you can buy. Very comfortable, stylish and they have a very good odour control for the summer months, yet they keep you nice and warm coming towards winter.

The grip is second to none when you keep them slightly damp. You'll find that any ball that you go up for will just stick, sometimes without even trying.

Another great attribute of this glove is the aluminium strips on the back of the glove for the "finger tip save". It comes in very handy, especially with the heavy O'Neills ball coming at you. But also it protects you from the horrible high balls coming in close to the cross bar. I haven't had to worry about breaking my fingers against the crossbar since I bought this glove. The only downside to these strips is they make it quite uncomfortable when you are trying to fist pass the ball, it is nothing major though... These gloves cost me €60, quite dear but they are a great glove.

im also an adidas predator man. I play outfield and mainly for the same reasons as pornapster i use them. I also feel that they are extremly comfortable.

As for gloves i prefer not to wear them but during the winter months when i have to i like to wear the championship gloves as they are quite light and dont make your hands feel like shovels!!

New Puma King Execs are great boots....

Gloves.....O'Neills last a long time, but value for money wise I'd go (again) for Puma King, only €20 in Elverys, the rest of the makes are close to €30
