What are the best fixed term accounts out there. 3 - 5 years are the accounts i`d be looking for. Say you wanted to put E5000 into one. Can Irish folk invest into an account like this in a Northern bank.
I believe Northern Rock were offering 6% on some of its fixed savings accounts there about 3months ago.

Anybodu kmow more on this subject? Are the post office ones any good?

Post office is tax free, that's an advantage. But they have fairly low returns. The after tax return on Rabo and Northern Rock beats them. So unless you think rates are going to fall in the next 3-5 years, there is no point going with an post.
