You know this will rock, Drummer-lead-singers only add to the mix - 2 nordie bands for the price of one, get there early as there is another show in the Village that night!

    Later.

    Stiff Little Fingers
    + special guests THE DANGERFIELDS

The Village, Friday 16th of December
    Doors 7.30pm
    €22.50 www.tickets.ie

Stiff Little Fingers (Jake Burns, Bruce Foxton, Ian McCallum and Steve Grantley) will ignite The Village on Friday December 16th when they unleash their punk energy, as part of their current tour.

Taking their name from a song by The Vibrators, Stiff Little Fingers were formed in Belfast in 1977 and have become one of the best bands to emerge from Ireland. With punk rock classics such as 'Suspect Device', 'Wasted Life' and of course 'Alternative Ulster', with their infectious energy and distorted guitar hooks, SLF have been a major influence on bands such as Green Day, Bad Religion, Sugar, Rancid and fellow Ulster band Therapy.

This is going to be an explosive night of punk rock energy - a night that should not be missed! Expect to hear some of the old favourites. There'll be 'no sleep 'til Belfast!'.

Buy online www.tickets.ie WAV box office, The Sound Cellar, City Disks and Road Records.

SLF are well well past it and the Village sucks as a venue.

Each to their own, there are issues with the venue though.

    Shame on you!!

    U know I speak thy truth :p
I mean the state of them in their makey up footy tops and they play really soft stuff now.
I watched the original Fingers and they were so more hard edged and Jakes voice was far gruffier.

Dangerfields are pretty good - seriously hard-edged stuff. Shame about the Stiff Little Fingers - I have yet to hear anyone who's seen them in the last few years say anything good about them, so I'm not going. Ignorance > Bitter Disappointment

I'm not a big SLF fan (never really heard any of their stuff) but I saw them in TBMC last year and thought they were pretty good.

    tbh.

I'll be the guy with the compass trying to locate the landmark.

Just like everything else in the Village.

Not being old enough to drink must be the crappiest excuse ever to not be able to get into a gig.

Even if they put a big X on me forehead i wouldn't mind.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 6,525 Mod ✭✭✭✭dregin

**** sake lads. Think about it. If a gig's all ages that means there's gonna be more people not drinking and therefor less space for those stupid enoug (me) to pay ****ing ridiculous amounts of money for complete piss.

Gimme the €3 Bavaria in bohs any ****in day. No matter what anyone says about bavaria, it's excellent down there.

Good gig. Not as good as last years. Also, Village is crap. Nice toilets though.

Why was the Basta Youth thread locked?

Great show, I have seen them so many times over the years, never fail to deliver!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 669 ✭✭✭Johnny Jukebox

Yes, thats how to do it alright.

Security was a bit OTT and frankly deserved a few thumps for their heavy handedness. They would'nt have got away with it back in the old days :)

Why I refuse to go to big venues, biggest venue I will go to now would be the size of The Voodoo

Danger ****in' Fields... They were good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,287 ✭✭✭NotMe

Danger Fields didn't do it for me.. for some reason. And I'd been listening to their stuff all the week before and really like it: (see :P http://www.last.fm/user/NotMe_). But I only saw their last few songs and didn't recognise any of them.
