My contract was up in my job at the end of october so I decided to take some time before my next one to concentrate on photoing full time, and try and travel around Ireland - see what there is to see and get some decent pics hopefully at the same time. At first I was cursing the time of the year, but even though the days are shorter, there has still been plenty of clear days, and the real advantage is that everywhere isnt mobbed with tourists all the time.

Got to Fanore Strand in Clare last wednesday on a fantastic afternoon and had the place to myself -

Lovely shot! Doesn't look like the end of October at all.

That's one of my favourite beaches in the country, there's a real holiday feel to the place, and the sand looks just like gold. The surf can be good too :)

Thanks, yes I usually consider the rule of thirds when composing a landscape, I also try to have the points of interest or foreground items around the points where the lines intersect. There are of course times where the rule goes out the window but in general it's a good guide.

Thanks to Sinecura, Enygma and captain P for your commetns also.

Thanks, it was a Nikon D70 with 18-70mm lens, more detailed info about the shot can be seen by clicking 'Camera Details' beneath the pic.

Ah, ya see that would be the obvious thing to do. Way too logical for me!

    Heheh.

    Thanks.
