PC World have one for 499 presently.

Tesco should have some for around 700, if you were to buy before today ends and use your clubcard you'll get 25% back on your next voucher mailing in January.

I havent seen any great bargains there yet in the line of laptops:

Three things to bear in mind:
    1) Machines are scratched or dented.
    2) Some machines have a colourful service call status. Dell have a policy of exchanging laptops if you get more than 4 service calls. Some of these machines have hit the jackpot in this regard.
    3) It is difficult to know what dell mean by "standard Dell warranty"... do the latitudes come with 3 years, and does the Inspiron 2200 get 90 days, or does everything get 12 months. I suspect the latter, but I dont know.

That Inspiron 1300 was 450 last week, so it might be a good idea to toughen out, as it is likely to hit that figure, or even lower, again. Also bear in mind that laptop is going to have a 14.1" screen in a 15.4" chassis.. doesnt make for a pretty looking machine. Also, the standard battery needs upgrading.

If you have €700 you should have a good selection of machines to choose from, including an insprion 1300 with a 3yr warranty.

    Dell for €375 + €30

Im in the market for the smallest laptop I can get for the cheapest price, I want it just for editing photos on a 2yr round the world trip.

This seems small but id imagine its quite heavy?

    Sean.

Im writing this post from one. It is a lovely laptop, no heavier than any other 15" laptops, and lighter than most. Personally if I was going around the world I would want something lighter (or not bring a laptop at all)

I put a few bids on laptops on the ebay site, but everthing went for more than I was willing to pay.

smallest ive found is a 10" screen for €340, only a 10GB HDD and 500MHZ, but wouldnt be too bad for photoshop and putting in a backpack.

LEGEND. Very funny. I can imagine promo ads showing poor souls in Africa with little food or water, but hey, they're ok, they got Crank up laptops that don't need power.

If you just want it to edit photos, you're better off buying a cheapie from ebay.
Or else buy a massive memory card and use webcafe's to edit & gmail as storage

The OP doesnt want a high spec machine. Wireless can be solved with a Wireless card
