    I need to differenciate...

    (e ^ bx) - (e ^ ax)
    ____________________
             x

...with respect to x such that the result will have no x's on the bottom. Is there any trick/formula/manipulation for doing this?

Dont think so, no matter how you differentiate you'll always get an x under the line. You should get
    b e^(bx) - a e^(ax) e^(ax) - e^(bx)
    ___________________ + _______________
              x x^2
