I began guitar last september in Coolmine Community School (Dublin 15). They do evening classes at €60 for 10 lessons which is so cheap. Its mainly basic chords and fingerstyle but definately reccommended for an introduction to guitar. New courses start end of January so look them up on the web now if you are interested

Buy Frederick M. Noad's Solo Guitar Playing. Its a great book and is exctly what you need. Goes through it right from the begining, technique, sight reading and excersises. About €20. Best guitar book I've bought. Most shops have it in stock too. It'll keep you going for a couple of years.
