Im thinking of buying a 1.6gHz Pentium M, 60gb hdd, 1024mb ram from dell, theyve got the double your memory thing goin on again. Seems like an ok price for a portable decent laptop for about 1k,

How well will this perform with intensive games, audio/video capturing, editing and ripping and internet usage?

How will it compare performance wise to my 8800 P4 3.0HT, 512?

If you mean the Inspiron 630m (make sure you upgrade the battery for €18), then it will be pants for gaming.
If mobility isnt the biggest issue, i'd spend about €100 and get the Inspiron 6000 with the X300 & the 1680x1050 screen.
