Engine Flooded?

So, subsequent to my puncture I brought the scooter in the car (on its side) to get a new tyre. Brought it home (in the car). Engine wouldn't start when I got it home. The electric start is firing but the engine isn't kicking in.

Its been a few hours and it hasn't changed - so what practical things can I do to try to get it going? Keep in mind that I don't really know anything about the engine, or spark plugs so any instructions might need a fairly detailed explanation :o

    thanks

Sounds like your spark plug alright..
Take out the plug and clean it with a bit of sandpaper or cloth or something and put it back in.

Obvious, but also check for petrol and the petrol is set to on and kill switch is in right position.

is htere a trip switch that cuts the bike out if it is lieing on its side?
might be acting up if the bike was horizontal for a while

If you don't have the right tools, leave the spark plug alone, you can easily cause engine damage by overtightening or cross-threading it.
Try holding the throttle wide open until the engine fires, if there's any excess petrol in the cylinder this will help clear it out. Pumping the throttle open and closed will only make it worse.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

ITS IN THE SIDE OF YOUR CYLINDER OVER YOUR ENGINE BLOCK...WHEN YOU FIND THE ENGINE,,YOU WILL SEE FINS,,,FOR COOLING..THE SPARK PLUG GOES INTO THE SIDE OF THIS.CHECK THE TOOL KIT YOU GOT WITH THE BIKE AND SEE IF YOU HAVE A LONG SOCKET,,IF SO TAKE OUT THE SPARK PLUG AND DRY THE TIP OF IT(BLOW TORCH WORKS GREAT)SAND IT A LITTLE AND PUT IT BACK IN.THEN TRY START IT.MAKE SURE PETROL SWITCH IS ON AND KILL SWITCH TOO.IF THIS DOESNT WORK IM SELLING A HONDA VARADERO,,,,,GREAT BIKE HAHA
