seriously, those Mach3 blades cost a fortune. I need a better plan. What
do you use to assault your facial follicles? :)

Electric, without fail. So convenient. No need to buy blades, gel, or that malarky. As long as you shave on a daily basis a good electric is your man.

Why not open yourself up to a new bearded perspective?

I agree with MobileInfantry, electric is fine for your day-to-day shaving purposes and a lot more cost effective than Mach 3 blades. Though, do what I do and keep a pack of Mach 3's handy for those odd times when you might want a closer shave.

Do you need a mad expensive one or what? I've had a couple of
mid-priced electric ones in the past and they left my skin redder than
a well-smacked arse  Maybe I have grumpy skin! :D

Mach3 for me, you can't get a closer shave. Nothing else seems to cut it.

Yeah but they're a nightmare if you have a decent bit of stubble. I haven't shaved in days and now I'm scared of putting my electric razor near my chin.

So you have a big Ronnie Drew job? That'd never work for me - I'm too
short. I'd look like Gimli out of 'Lord of the Rings'.

I don't in fairness, I was telling a big porky..
I can't grow a beard properly, so i just keep my face trimmed. I hate shaving, so I always have a bit of stubble

I use a shaving brush. Makes the hair stick up, so it cuts closer. I use a mach3.

I generally use a dry shaver during the week, but use wet razors for the weekends, for closer shaves

I can't use an electric shaver, they leave my face feeling raw and itchy. I use a Gillette Sensor razor, even though I also have a Mach 3. I find the large size and position of the blade on the Mach 3 make it awkward shaving my top lip, whereas the Sensor has a smaller blade in a more mormal position. It probably doesn't shave quite as close as the Mach 3, but there's very little in it. The blades are a good bit cheaper too, as an added bonus.

Try the Aldi eqivalent of the mach3. Maybe not quite such a close shave but a quarter of the price

I have an old ''safety'' cut-throat style razor. You can resharpen the blades a number of times. Me barber gets me replacement blades on the cheap.

I've tried a few different ones over the years and I've found Philishave to be the best. Currently own a pretty bog-standard three-head model which I've had for several years now. Had a two-head Philishave before that which was pretty good as well but the extra head really does make that bit more of a difference (now, now, no smutty comments! :D ). As for foil-head razors, I've found they just don't cut the mustard, to be honest. But all this is a personal preference based on my own experiences over the years. You might find the opposite is true in your case, who knows.

    As for........

........ even the thought of that makes me shudder. I'd be terrified to use one of those, I think, in case I had a sudden slip or something!

Oh yes... and the winner shaves it off for SSF.

lectric all the way. if you wanna wet shave, use the single blade bic disposables. if you've a thing for david beckham, or feel that the metal you scrape your face with makes you more attractive to other humans, feel free to shell out on mach3, or if you're feeling especially stupid and loaded, mach3 poweeeeerrrrrr assisted.

I'm surprised at the amount of people using electric. they are terrible for your skin.
Personally i got converted to Quattro last year. first i thought it was a joke, got stuck with one (forgot my mach 3!) and it was horrible to use for the first few times. Now i'm a convert :D they really shave well, especially under a heavy load! plus,4 blades is so better than 3 :v:

I'd like to enter that, I have 2 inches of growth on my chin, I'm trying for at least 5

I use Quattro also. Find them very good. Now and again I go for a few days or a week with out shaving. A hot towel on my face for a minute, new Quattro blade and the hair is gone easily.

This is supposed to be excellent, FHM highly recommended it (Done a full article on it) One of my friends got it and he said tis great. Gettin one myself as soon as i get a chance. Ya can throw foam on your mush and it shaves like an electric razor, or use it in the shower, so no chance of cuts and a nice wet shave instead of a dry one and the horrible burn after.:)

you can get discount Mach3's on James Street - think the area is called St. Ann's Market - there's also some discount stalls outside on James Street...

also, the idea that electric shavers are bad for your skin is an old idea. far better technology these days...

sure they wouldn't be rusted or anything? :p

electric is what i use, no foam, no hassle.

it takes about 2 minutes for me to shave where it could easily take 10 with this mach3 lark.

it is entirely possible that there are:

    a) rusted

    or

    b) dented from falling off the back of a truck :p

So it's for wet-shave with foam and all? So, erm, kind of like a normal old rasor then?

That said, shaving in the shower is the businness. So much less hassle. Heartilly recommended.

I've been using the Braun syncro 7510 for the last 3 years. Can't fault it. Gives a good shave especially just after it's been cleaned. Was about £80 in UK when I got it.

Ah no! Always have a proper look before gettin smart! It's an electric shaver but you use it with foam to keep your face from gettin that burning feeling(sort of like the idea with philips coolskin shavers) And it's not bulky like normal electric razors.
Ya very handy that it can be used in the shower.
