Im about to build a desktop from scratch but I can't decide what graphics card to buy. It has to be SLI enabled and preferably available from komplett.
    any ideas?
    Thanks, Kev

    Hi Kevo,

Does it need to be high end or medium range?

High end if I can afford it. Not too sure how much the rest of the hardware will cost at the moment.

Ye, there is a fair bit of difference tbh, but if you dont care about having EVERYTHING on full when playing games the second card will fly along just fine :).

I think il go with the better one. Really wanna be able to play F.E.A.R. on full graphics.

One more question. What RAM do you think I should get. All the motherboards on Komplett which support AMDs don't have DDR2 RAM. Will this reduce the performance much? I tried to compensate for this with pc4000 DDR RAM. Its a bit expensive though. What DDR RAM speed is good enough for gaming?

Unless you're overclocking, your PC won't make use of any RAM faster than PC3200. That's the standard speed that any motherboard will run any RAM at.

PC4000 is just guaranteed to run at 250mhz rather than 200mhz if you decide to overclock it, the default speed remains the same.
