I'm going to sell my strat and buy a Tokai:D

Just wondering, how well to Ishabashibasibash pack their guitars for shipping? if i don't have to i'd rather not pay for the hard case as well!!

One question, what would be the difference in the particular Tokai Les Paul models?

    Don't sell your strat.

Save up, get a credit union loan, whatever.

    Don't sell the strat.

"Custom"? Aka, one you threw together from parts? Personally, I'd wait a while, play both strats a bit more and then decide if you really want to sell your kosher strat.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Then don't afford it tbh. Wait untill such time that you can.

...And selling all your amps would pretty much make all your electrics useless now, wouldn't it? :v:

    Really?

Yes. Should be an ad up soon...ish

Oh yes, same as myself then. But I take it you're not after a white one though?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Nope. Maybe black tonepros bridge and stop bar, black sperzels and maybe some EMG's... The answer is none more black.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Aye, tonepros bridges are the business. I'd keep the gold on white myself though, as I've got a lot of black in my collection as it is.

so what are the differences in models?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Different woods, pickups, appearances... The one I want is based on the Les Paul Custom (LC) whereas most are based on the Standard (LS)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,144 ✭✭✭LundiMardi

not huge differences as far as i can see, apart from the top wood, finishes are different but you can choose but you can change that during checkout...

what to get what to get....

    What are you thinking of?

    LS80F

    ls80f.jpg

LS120F - Not too sure about that finish though..

    sl120f.jpg

    LC80

    lc80.jpg

They're the ones that appeal to me, not a fan of the other matt finished guitars

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That LC80 is quite nice. Of course, that is the one I want :p

Hmmm... I'm not getting Tokai GAS... maybe there's hope for me? :v:

No, no hope. The reason you're not getting GAS is a cause commonly known as old age

    :v: :p

They look nice but I'm not really GASing either.

That said, I did just spend about 40 minutes reading about Q-tuners again.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Has anyone bought one of those q-tuners yet?

In my mind, yes. I'm going to build a 5 string with them in it. Definitely. I made up my mind last week. They're ugly as **** but they intrigue me too much to resist any more.

Eoin, have a read and listen to this. Interesting, it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,117 ✭✭✭Eoin Madsen

I read and listened already. :D I did a search for Q-tuners on talkbass as well. ;) It's actually more compelling an example than the sample on the Q-tuner site - whatever they played didn't really seem average enough to compare with.

I've also resolved to get some, for a 4-string bass. I think they look kinda cool tbh.

Well, not gold anyway and, it goes without saying, it must have speed knobs.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Don't get me wrong, I like the gold on it. I just think black would be better. And boourns to speed knobs!
