Has anyone done a phone interview? What type of questions do they ask? is it detailed answers they are looking for? Are they testing your ability to converse on the phone or your technical knowledge? Or both?
    Thanks!

WOW that really narrows it down!

Is it IT sales? Tech support - phone based or desk side? System administration - UNIX or Windows?

From my experience they tend to be the same questions you get in a face to face interview.

Yes. They want to know if you talk like a scanger, if you're a total muppet, if you're a time waster, and if you know what your CV says you know.

They're just saving themselves some time.

If its a tech support phone roll, then they are evaluating you and checking if you will sound clear and concise....afterall this is what the job will be so if you mess up in the interview you will prob do the same in real life.

Question: is it a company or a recruitment agency giving you the phone interview?
