    Hi,

Ive got a bit of a problem. I earn what I consider a pretty good wage (bout 50% more than the industrial average.). However, I dont believe that this would be enough to grant me a mortgage in dublin. If I combined this with what ive made in poker over the last year I wouldnt have a problem getting a house. Problem is how the hell can I go into a Bank manager and explain to him that on top of my salary there is an extra x amount due to gambling?!?

Have any of you pros out there ever been forced to get loans etc on the back of being a pro gambler and what were the results?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Go to an independent broker they can sort you out. I know some one who got a mortgage solely on Poker winnings. If you are stuck then I can find out who he went to.

Speaking as somebody with a strong involvement in the financial services industry I'd like to say that you have no chance at all of using those winnings as evidenced 'income', don't even waste your time trying. Time to get on the phone to mum and dad.

Organise a monthly withdrawal from Neteller or a poker website to your bank account, you can then say this is part of your salary again as Shortstack mentioned independant broker.

If you are strongly involved in the financial community then you will know that it is not too hard to manipulate things your own way. As long as you have a regular withdrawal, preferably by cheque then you will have no problem.

Job: erm, self employed software consultant for pokerstars.com, cheque from Pokerstars arrives every month. As long as you are not black listed already you will find many lenders willing to throw money at you.

Most banks are look for ways to give you a mortgage not to deny you one. Especially in Ireland where property prices are rising so quickly the banks are not taking that big a risk.
