I saw some of it as well. Interesting enough, it focused on Party Poker and how the rise in TV poker contributed to the online boom.
They didn't demonise the gambling aspect of poekr and they did mention that it's not guaranteed profit. They quoted Mike Sexton sayin that only 15-20% of players will be long term winners.

Ye I saw it too, thought it was a good show, should help with the rise of Poker I think, it made On-line poker look like something that any auld Joe Soap could get into and make easy money, just by hoping the cards went well for them. Even Mike Sexton saying only 15-20% could be long term winners I thought was good, cos I'm sure it's no where near this high...

But a very interesting show indeed

Was it just me or do you think that woman with the kids was lying through her bloody teeth about the 2k? :)

Who plays poker on a flimsy leaving cert exam type folding table just waiting to be knocked over by the kids?. And it was as if it was unusual for her when she told she went from £100 down to £30,told like it was a bit unlikely but actually happened.
That said i thought the same about Mel Lofthouse the first time i saw her in a tabloid newspaper smiling as she played online with her baby on her lap claiming she had won 'fousands'!.

I'd say it might have been true, what I liked was that they make it look like it's all done playing 1 table, they didn't show the 4 flat screen monitors, PokerTracker, PAHUD, GT+ and PokerProphecy running away in the background, they made it look like anyone can just sit down and play away and win buckets.

Although I have to say I also thought it was a bit unlikely about the 2k, with a measly $100 and especially when she dropped down to $30, she mustn't have been using any BR management, but it's nice to see, it should encourage more people to play above their limits. Especially in the show that's in it. i.e. "The Money Programme", some nice fat wallets I'd say watch that, and with their ego, they must think to themselves "if that mad woman and that young lad can do so well, imagine what I can do!!! "

Just looked like a half hour add for Party Gaming to me. I felt violated.

Didnt find it interesting at all really. It was a very basic introduction to the world of online gaming. They only skimmed over things very briefly. It would have been more interesting if they focused on one aspect and really dug into it.

I'd say 15% would be accurate enough. If you consider that the long term winners would be playing a lot more and for much longer than the average loser. Suppose it depends what you consider long term.

I missed this but if the woman's name was Jane then she is the wife/girlfriend of one of tribeca's most succesful tournament players - royal flush / flush royal. I know she was supposed to be on the programme but I missed it.

Her screen name was MissFortune, if I remember correctly. Fairly cool name
