    Just got one of these:

Should I fork out €500ish to turn it into one of these:

Any input/experience would be appreciated. Mostly just considering it for aesthetic reasons and also it should make for a smoother, more comfortable ride on the motorways, etc.

Thanks to www.bikepics.com for the pics.. Cool site. Sorry they're so MASSIVE!

i have only ever driven a naked bandit (one of my mates bikes) but i have drive a few fully faired bike, & the difference is quite large, if you are going to do alot of motorway travel/long distance then i would recommend fairing but it is your own choice

Cheers madrab. Anyone know if the headlights on the faired version are better/brighter for the back roads, etc? Could use a bit more illumination at times!

you could check the specs of the bike & find out the power of the lights

or you could just put a pair of twins headlamps on the naked bike

No guarantee that higher power is a better lamp of course. Tis all down to the reflector/buld combo. Like said already, the fairing is a godsend for higher speeds and a little more weather protection. Sometimes I miss not having more than a flyscreen on my Speed Trip. The faired Bandit12 before that was soooo much smoother at speed.

Depends if you're getting the official Suzuki bits or some aftermarket job.
Most of the aftermarket jobs look like total sh1te and will probably decrease the value of your bike :(
What about getting a small screen - can make a lot of difference wind-wise, unobtrusive, cheap and easily removed when it comes to sell

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

personally I dont see how people think the fairing is nice on bikes like that.
It just looks out of place and dis proportional to the rest of the (unaired) bike.

I would enjoy the extra protection of a fairing but imo it's a trade off with the looks of the bike.

A flyscreen and MX style brush guards would make a huge difference to your weather protection and comfort on that bike in the winter (if you like the looks that is)

the naked - faired conversion isnt as straightforward as you'ld think either, but there are lots of aftermarket fairings out there, with bandits there's a huge aftermarket range of everything really.

have a read through the forums at
http://banditalley.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php someones surely done it before and you can see the pitfalls and problems beforehand
