Double check all the cards / RAM / disks / etcs are correctly seated / connected

If this doesn't help, then remove cards one by one trying a boot each time.

This will eliminate the possibility of a faulty card.

    Failing that ... !?

I recently got caught with my setup not going to post , checked everything and all was as it should be . Penny finally dropped on a " halt on all errors" , so what could be missing and that simple.........." a drive " , bloody thing , I never use it anymore and never thought to connect it , connected it up and off she went . Might have nothing to do with your problem but thought I would mention it anyway .

    thanks,

i have tried booting with everything disconnected except the processor and still no change.

should i try it without the processor ?

the video thing seems strange to me. the monitor doesn't seem to thing its connected to anything.

The single most likely cause of a new PC not booting is that you've connected some of the motherboard power or LED connectors incorrectly. They might be on the incorrect pins or in a few cases connected with the wrong polarity (+,-). Get your motherboard manual and double check that they are connected perfectly.

Another possibility for a first time build is that you may have shorted out your board against a metal riser in your case. In that case you'll need to reseat the board making sure that you don't do this.

Also, make sure that you have the system speaker in your case connected for audible POST codes. You may also have a set of diagnostic LED's on your board to tell you what it is.

Your best bet is to try to boot it with just CPU, RAM and Graphics.

Actually. Quite a simple question here - do you have the additional power connector on the graphics card hooked up?

Agreed. If you're not getting anything on your monitor then it's not powering up. That means you probably have the power button incorrectly connected.

its powering up. the fans come on etc

i just remembered i never connected an internal speaker thus the no sound of it posting
its probably just the graphics card i will try another one in it

    Since have activated speaker
mobo gives post beep but no bios

    mobo has diagnostic leds
    - this show that cpu, ram and vga is detected
Have disconnected all bar cpu, vga card and memory
    have cleared cmos
Have disabled all features that are not needed
    tried "safe boot"

PC now posts but fans stop after post (bios issue?)
Not likely to be fan management as mobo north/south bridge stops

    Any ideas?
