3 Ireland 3G settings for sim-free phone?

I got the V975 when I joined 3 Ireland in August, but for the past month I've gone back to my old Nokia 6020 (not a 3G handset) because the battery life of the Motorola really annoys me.

I'm just wondering if I got a sim-free 3G handset, like the N70 or 6280 - I know the handset will work just fine for calls/txts (as will recent enough 2G handsets) - the settings that I can see on my V975 to access all the 3 services would be the same from any 3G handset? I don't see anything filled in for a lot of the details so I'm just curious if that's because 3 have tinkered with all the handsets they sell themselves.

I never really moved to 3 for the services, but mainly because their tariffs were better, and have worked out much cheaper for me in the past few months. It's just that since more and more nice-looking 3G handsets are appearing, if I was going to get a new handset, and it was 3G, I'd like to be able to enable it to access all the features.

As far as I know three consider it a breech of T&C's if you use your three SIM in another handset that is unlocked....apparently they'll be able to tell so I've been told
    Best to verify this. :)

I have used a 3 SIM in a unlocked 2.5 phone and nothing happened!!!! The settings are easy to get and set up a new profile. only thing is Im not sure if you will be able to get all 3 services etc.....the software is different. If you got a 3 UK sim free handset it would work .
