According to the frequency list on their website, CH4 and Discovery are transmitted on 543 and 575 MHz respectively, as well as their VHF frequencies of 56 and 48 MHz.

I've tried tuning these frequencies in, both on my TV and on my PC's tuner card without success. Has anyone managed to successfully tune in these frequenceis at all? I'm in Bray, but as far as I can tell I fall under the Dublin area as far as all this goes.

Does your tuner support VHF Band 1 (for the lower frequencies), or the higher UHF frequencies (I've seen this called the Cable Band, the Super Band or the Hyper Band).. i.e. my older VCR didn't support it, but my new one does.

Both ... it's a modern Philips WS TV. I can directly enter the frequency using the remote, but all I get is snow.

The 543 and 575 MHz frequnecies are only available in some areas with newer (higher quality) cable.

Just for others FYI, if you got these channels at this frequency then you should use this, rather then the lower VHF Band frequencies as the VHF frequencies suffer from interference.

    OK, thanks for that info.

Exactly, that was why I was trying to use them, both on my PC Tuner card and also for my VCR for recordings. The VCR picture on CH4 isn't too bad, since I have a good quality antenna cable, but the PC Tuner card is connected with a crappy old cable that gives a good enough picture on the UHF channels, but CH4, Discovery and especially E4 are pretty bad.
