As compared to badly and unnaturally colourised in the 1980's like a lot of MCM's movies - most of which ARE B&W in reality.

TCM was a much better channel before Time Waner or however took it over and it had better selection of moives IMO when it was FTA.

The entire Turner block of channels (Cartoon Network, etc) was much better in their not-so-greedy days - they were all FTA at one stage.

I miss the old for-cable analogue transponder of Cartoon Network and TCM timesharing with about 15 language options. FTA too. :(

ah those were the good times when they had only very few intermissions and the really nice tune.
    Now its all ruined.

Am I right in thinking TCM is the direct replacement of TNT? I do vaguely remember wrestling or something on TNT though.

yes TNT, used to show WCW and The Dukes Of Hazard amongst others. IIRC Nightmare On Elm Street also used to feature quite a bit but it was analogue only as TCM featured on Sky Digital

No. TNT used to show mainly classic movies - with some WCW play-acting wrestling and 1970's TV shows - until the beginning of TCM, however they co-existed for a time, with TNT being a 'lads channel', around the time everyone was trying lads channels.

    But but

MGM movies is a must have along with chorus sports according to that cracky pot lady on the radio add :D

UTV has apparently lost its must have status, now that its Free to anyone with a sat system.

I think NCTV (New Channel Television) on 15W Telstar 12 is considerably better than TCM or MGM at the minute.

Picture quality not great, but it is free. Three or four good movies a day. Wierd arabic interviews and Classic Pop concerts is the rest of the schedule. I emailed their office in London but never got any reply.
