    1. You can't handle the truth

    2. A radio pirate is a station which uses the radio spectrum to broadcast without a licence. although operators will prefer the term "free radio"

    3. whats an I trip

    4 I'm happy for you

    whats an I trip
    iTrip.

Put simply, they're illegal because they are unlicensed FM transmitters.

Truth - triangulation of a station shouldn't take more than about 10 milliseconds.

We've had radio in this country for a very long time, first the transatlantic link
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RT%C3%89
The first voice broadcast of 2RN, the original radio callsign for Radio 1, took place on November 14, 1925 when Seamus Clandillon, the 2RN station director said, "Seo Raidió 2RN, Baile Átha Cliath ag tástáil", meaning "This is Radio 2RN, Dublin testing".
    so it's

iTrips are 'illegal' because they broadcast a signal on the fm radio frequency 87.5-108, albeit only a strong enough signal to cross the room

don't worry you won't get arrested for using one

Cool where can you get iTrips?

Freakfm in Cork got raided yesterday. Comreg decided they were a menace to society and threat to legal stations revenue.

When are they gonna start raiding the itrips?

when iTrips become a neusance and threaten stations that pay money to broadcast

Arent they already a nuisance? they can be set to any frequency the user wants.. they then drive around and if any radio they pass by happens to be tuned to that frequency, then it interferes. probably happens all the time. Most pirates don`t cause interference.

most pirates that want to provide a decent service don't cause interference. i'm sure freakfm broadcasted on a freq no one else used. but with iTrip, as far as i'm aware, if you drove around broadcasting, you'd have to go into someones room and stand a few feet away in order to interfere with any other station.

the problem with them is if you can get something to boost the signal (which is probably not the most difficult thing to do) and really cause mayhem.

but either way, they're illegal, and pretty useless IMO
