Does anybody know of a good video editor besides Final Cut and iMovie?

    It's too bloody complicated.

And iMovie? I can't imagine a video editor easier than that. It does the job for most of us

Avid Media Composer. I think one of their family is free. I use Media Composer daily, as does Dustaz and mycroft. Check out the Avid website, it's the industry standard for some editing applications.

At the risk of sounding contrary, what do you expect it to be? Editing is hard to do well, if you can't get your head around iMovie, you probably shouldn't bother.

For some reason iMovie keeps crashing and it won't recognise my JVC camcorder. I also want to edit AVI and MPEG files. I've a few things I need to do straight away. Maybe I need to be a bit more patient with Final Cut.

    Thanks.
