    I need to get my girlfriend a camera for chrimbo. something nice an simple to use. are www.pixmania.com any use ? i'd like to shop around. any other good online stores anyone can reccomend ?

    Pixmania has mixed reports. Nomatica.com are good, i got an iXus40 off of them. Manual was in French though. Ebay can find great results as long as you are careful.

    Check through this mammoth thread for some more online shops (the majority of them are in America, but you'll find some English one's there)

    Well with time beginning to run short I'd be wary of buying online now for a Christmas present.I've read here and elsewhere that items marked 'in stock' at Pixmania have a habit of going out of stock as soon as you put in your order.

    I've always found Amazon.co.uk pretty good but you're taking a chance with delivery order straight away

    Don't know what your budget is but I got a Canon A510 for my GF's birthday and its excellent,puts my higher spec Sony to shame.Around €250 in bricks and mortar shops here.
